Rawtenstall railway station is the northern terminus of the East Lancashire Railway, a heritage railway in Lancashire.

City of Wells 34092

Photo shows the 34092 City of Wells train entering the Rawtenstall station. The City of Wells train is a preserved steam locomotive operated on the East Lancashire Railway, including services through to Rawtenstall.

It’s a Bulleid West Country Class 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive, built at Brighton Works in 1949. It was originally named Wells and became City of Wells in 1950.
